Corian & Staron Solid Surface Benchtops Perth

Sculpted, seamless and crafted beyond standard benchtop fabrication.

Kingston Kitchens are licensed fabricators of Corian and Staron solid surface benchtops, crafting premium solid surface applications from our Canning Vale workshop for projects across Perth and Western Australia.

Solid surface is regarded as one of the most refined and versatile benchtop materials available, valued not only for its appearance, but for its long-term performance, seamless finish and ability to be custom fabricated into highly detailed designs.

Unlike many standard benchtop materials, solid surface is completely non-porous, making it highly hygienic, resistant to mould and bacteria, and easy to maintain in everyday living. The material also allows for seamless joins, integrated sinks, coved splashbacks and continuous flowing surfaces without visible junction lines, creating a cleaner and more refined finish throughout the space.

As licensed fabricators, we handcraft each benchtop in-house through a detailed fabrication process involving precision cutting, thermoforming, seamless joining, hand-finishing and extensive sanding to achieve its final result. This level of craftsmanship and labour is one of the reasons solid surfaces remains a premium product within both residential and commercial cabinetry.

Solid surface also offers practical long-term benefits that many other surfaces cannot. It is repairable, renewable and capable of being professionally restored if scratched or damaged, helping extend the lifespan of the benchtop rather than requiring full replacement. Selected Solid Surface products are also UV stable and suitable for external applications when fabricated correctly.

Laminate benchtops have evolved significantly in both appearance and quality, offering refined finishes and durable surfaces suited to modern cabinetry design. While laminate is often perceived as the cheaper option, quality laminate fabrication can still involve a highly detailed and labour-intensive manufacturing process.

At Kingston Kitchens, our laminate benchtops are fabricated from raw materials within our Canning Vale workshop rather than supplied as basic pre-finished components. This allows for greater flexibility in sizing, detailing and integration with surrounding cabinetry while delivering a cleaner and more refined finished result.

With a wide range of colours, textures and finishes available, laminate continues to provide a practical and versatile solution for many homes across Perth and Western Australia.

Cabinetry refacing is often misunderstood as simply replacing doors, when in reality, a well-executed reskin can require a significant level of planning, craftsmanship and experience.

At Kingston Kitchens, cabinetry refacing is approached as a carefully considered renovation solution rather than a quick cosmetic update. In many projects, existing cabinetry structures may still be functional and worth retaining, allowing selected parts of the space to be refreshed while introducing entirely new cabinetry, layouts or storage solutions elsewhere. This can help clients achieve a substantial transformation while managing renovation investment more strategically.

A successful cabinetry reskin also depends heavily on the quality of the original cabinetry and installation. Once cabinetry begins to be dismantled, hidden issues can sometimes become apparent, particularly where previous work was poorly constructed, incorrectly installed or not built to standard in the first place. This is where experience becomes critical.

Not every cabinet maker offers cabinetry refacing because it often requires more problem-solving, adaptability and technical knowledge than starting from new. Existing cabinetry must be carefully assessed to determine what can realistically and responsibly be retained, modified or rebuilt to achieve the right long-term outcome.

At Kingston Kitchens, our approach is never driven by a one-size-fits-all solution. Where existing cabinetry remains structurally sound, refacing can provide an excellent opportunity to modernise and improve the space while preserving elements that still work well. In other situations, a full replacement may ultimately provide the better long-term investment.

Consultations are available within our Canning Vale showroom and factory or in the comfort of your home. We generally encourage clients to begin within our showroom, where they can explore materials, colours, hardware and finish selections while experiencing firsthand the craftsmanship that defines our work. With our showroom and factory operating side by side, clients gain a rare insight into both the design process and how their cabinetry will ultimately be made.

Following the initial consultation, we can attend site to assess the space, discuss functionality in greater detail and obtain accurate measurements. Why is it important to disclose my budget early?

Because a well-run project starts with the right parameters. Understanding the investment range allows us to guide the design, material selections and level of detail appropriately from the beginning, rather than presenting options that are misaligned with what the client is looking to achieve.

Do I need to book an appointment to review my design and quotation?

Yes. Design and quotation presentations are conducted by appointment so the project can be properly reviewed and discussed in detail. This allows us to walk clients through the layout, inclusions, material selections and overall direction of the project, rather than reducing the process to a figure alone.

Why don’t you email out your designs or quotations?

Because our work is bespoke, and it needs to be properly presented. We invite clients to review the design and quotation with us so they can clearly understand the layout, the scope, the material selections and how the cabinetry will function within the home. We do not release design work without a design fee or deposit, because that work is part of the value we create. Our process is designed for clients seeking a more considered and tailored result, rather than a standardised quote-only approach.

Do you provide rough estimates before design?

We can discuss indicative investment ranges early, but bespoke cabinetry cannot be meaningfully reduced to a rough like-for-like figure without understanding the scope, materials and level of detail involved. Our process is designed to provide a more accurate and considered proposal.

What kind of projects are you best suited to?

We are best suited to bespoke cabinetry projects across Perth where considered design, quality materials and proper cabinetmaking methods matter. Our process is designed for clients seeking a more tailored and enduring result, rather than a quick or standardised solution.

What hardware do you use?

We use Blum hardware systems, including hinges and drawer systems, selected for their quality, performance and longevity. Blum’s Australian warranty statement says its hardware is covered for 20 years, which it treats as the lifetime of the furniture.

Do you project manage the entire renovation?

No. We do not act as full project managers for the entire renovation. We do, however, coordinate and schedule the trades that are directly relevant to our scope of works once cabinetry is ready for that stage, so the process around installation is managed appropriately.

What is not included in your scope?

Unless specifically agreed otherwise, items such as skip bins, general demolition, and trades outside our cabinetry scope are not included. Where relevant to our work, we can coordinate and schedule essential licensed trades such as electricians or plumbers at the appropriate stage.

Why don’t you include plumbers and electricians in every quote?

We prefer to keep licensed trade work clearly separated and appropriately engaged where required, rather than blurring responsibility inside a cabinetry quote. It creates clearer accountability and helps ensure the right licensed trade is responsible for its own work.

Why are your projects more expensive than some other quotes?

Because not all cabinetry is like-for-like. Our work is not mass-produced, flat-packed or assembled through standardised systems. We design, craft and install in-house, use premium hardware, build through labour-intensive cabinetmaking methods, and present cabinetry for review before it leaves. The investment reflects the level of design input, workmanship, material quality and installation precision involved.

Do you offer discounts?

We price our work according to the level of design, craftsmanship, materials and installation it requires. For that reason, we do not position the business around discounting. Our focus is on delivering the right outcome at the right standard.

Why don’t you use plastic feet?

Because we do not build cabinetry around the shortcuts used in modular systems. Our cabinetry is formed on solid ladder kickframes and then refined on site, including precise scribing where required, to achieve a more exact fit within the home.

Can I see my cabinetry before it is installed?

Yes. Clients are invited to inspect their cabinetry at our factory in Canning Vale, in completed form before it leaves the factory. It is one of the ways we maintain continuity, clarity and confidence throughout the process.

Can I visit the showroom or factory?

Yes. Our showroom and factory operate in one location Canning Vale , which allows the design and production sides of the business to work closely together. Clients are welcome to visit and see where their project is being developed and made.

How far in advance should I get in touch?

The earlier, the better. Engaging early in the process allows more time to shape the design properly, align selections, and plan the project with the level of detail it deserves.
